Overview

At Christ Mission International (CMI), our Community Advocacy Program empowers marginalized communities across Eastern Africa to champion justice, equality, and dignity grounded in Biblical values. Through grassroots education, policy engagement, and collective action, we equip individuals and local groups to confront systemic challenges such as poverty, drug abuse, gender inequality, and environmental degradation. By strengthening awareness and amplifying community voices, we help transform those once silenced into confident, capable agents of change impacting families, churches, and society for God’s glory.

Our Approach

Grassroots Empowerment: We train local advocates in human rights, child protection, evangelism, discipleship, conflict resolution, and leadership equipping them to champion justice and guide community-led solutions that bring sustainable transformation.

Faith-Based Advocacy: Root campaigns in Scripture to promote justice, mercy, and the inherent worth of every individual.

Policy Collaboration:We partner with governments, churches, and NGOs to advocate for and influence policies that protect vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans, and refugees, ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld

Awareness Campaigns: We mobilize communities through workshops, media, and creative arts to address and confront stigma and social issues, including gender-based violence, child labor, and child protection.

Sustainable Solutions:We support advocacy groups in establishing income-generating initiatives, such as cooperatives and microenterprises, to promote self-reliance and reduce community dependency

Key Impacts (2020–2023)

600+ Vulnerable Children: Over 600 children in Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo have had their rights advocated for and protected, ensuring access to safety, education, and opportunity.

12 Local Policies Influenced We have successfully shaped 12 local policies to protect women’s rights, ensure child protection, expand access to education, and safeguard environmental resources within local communities..

15,000+ Community Members Engaged Over 15,000 individuals participated in anti-trafficking campaigns, clean water projects, hygiene initiatives, and HIV/AIDS prevention programs, fostering healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

80% of Partner Communities report improved access to essential services (e.g., healthcare, legal aid) due to advocacy efforts.
