Our Mission in Vocational Training
Christ Mission International Training Centre (CMIT)
Overview
Christ Mission International Training Centre (CMIT) was founded to confront the cycle of poverty, gender inequality, and abandonment affecting girls, women, and vulnerable men across East Africa. In many communities where girls have been denied education, treated as property, or forced into exploitative circumstances, CMIT brings hope—offering safety, dignity, and a pathway to a better future.
Our Work & Progress
Vocational Training: A one-year residential program offering sewing, weaving, agriculture, animal husbandry, baking, and small product enterprises for vulnerable girls and women.
Academic Education: Basic literacy in reading, writing, mathematics, and foreign languages such as English and French.
Business & Life Skills: Entrepreneurship, financial literacy, small business management, community leadership, and personal development.
Transforming Families & Communities: Graduates return home empowered, restoring dignity, stability, and changing cultural perceptions about girls.
Impact & Community Transformation
Cultural Transformation: Families now see daughters as assets, not burdens—leading to fewer cases of abandonment and a growing demand for enrollment.
Community Reintegration: Graduates are welcomed back with pride, contributing income, skills, and leadership to their homes and villages.
A Milestone Celebration
On July 31, 2025, over 200 leaders, parents, students, and community members gathered to celebrate our graduates. The event was filled with joy, dancing, testimonies, and powerful speeches highlighting the transformative impact CMIT is having across the region.
Innovative Health Solutions
Our students produce washable, reusable feminine hygiene pads—an essential solution for girls who lack safe menstrual products. This initiative enables girls to stay in school and protects their health and dignity. Due to its success, the project is now expanding into other impoverished nations.
Facilities & Growth
Campus Development: A three-room school block, dormitory, kitchen, bathhouse, outdoor classroom pavilion, and a drilled clean-water well.
Partnership Network: A strong and growing collaboration with local leaders, churches, international partners, and development organizations.
