Overview
Christ Mission International (CMI) is dedicated to advancing the Gospel and fostering sustainable spiritual growth across Africa through our Church Planting Initiative. By establishing vibrant, locally led churches in underserved and unreached communities, we empower believers to become agents of transformation, addressing both spiritual and physical needs.
Our Approach
Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with local church leaders and engaging unreached communities leaders to identify people groups with limited access to the Gospel.
Leadership Training: Equipping members of unreached people groups with essential leadership skills to empower them as emerging church leaders and effective messengers of the Good News to other unreached communities. This includes providing theological education, discipleship tools, and practical ministry skills to strengthen lay leaders and support sustainable church growth.
Holistic Development: Building relationships with unreached people groups and gradually integrating community outreach sharing the Gospel while providing practical support such as literacy programs, basic healthcare initiatives, and income-generating activities for economic empowerment. These efforts demonstrate Christ’s love in both word and action..
Key Impacts (2020–2023)
5 New Churches Planted Five new churches have been planted in both rural and urban regions across Rwanda, DR Congo, and Uganda, with an additional church established in Mwanza, Tanzania. In Mwanza, we plan to re-open the CMI branch and work closely with local churches to form a CMI committee to oversee the branch’s reopening and activities
Local Church Leadership Training: Over 3,200 local church leaders have been trained in evangelism, discipleship-making movements, mission, and leadership. This equips them to shepherd their congregations with confidence, apply God-given skills effectively, and lead community-driven initiatives.
Church Sustainability:60% of partner churches are now self-sustaining, managing their own outreach programs and worship spaces. Others are still in the process of securing land and completing new constructions. We invite your partnership to support these churches in achieving full sustainability and expanding their ministry impact.
Community Services Impact: Over 2,000 lives have been positively impacted through integrated services, including clean water projects, child education initiatives, and crisis psychosocial counseling.
